19th C. Grain Painted School Master's Desk

Hepplewhite pine lift top School Master's desk in original painted surface. This 19th C desk is in very good condition, displaying age appropriate wear. Constructed with square nails and retaining original locks and hinges. The gallery is dovetailed. The interior has six small cubbies and one larger cubby as well as a locking compartment that runs the width of the desk. The desk top looks to have had a leather surface at one time as tiny nails are located around the perimeter of the top. The only repair that we note is to a small piece of wood on the right side of the gallery which broke off at some point and was nailed back into place. Measures 36" tall X 37 1/2" wide X 25" deep.     $695
