Lovely Floral Demilune Hooked Rug

Late 19th- early 20th C floral demilune hooked rug. Hooked with fabric strips and yarn on burlap. Orange, yellow and beige tulips and daisy-like flowers on a light blue ground divided by arches of varying beige tones. This rug is in good shape; only the typical age-related wear to note. The front has faded somewhat -especially the blue- and could probably use a good cleaning and the black binding shows quite a bit of wear. There is also one small stitched repair on the back that is not noticeable from the front. Measures approximately 29" X 19 1/2". A sweet hooked rug that would look lovely mounted.  $450

Fantastic Penny Rug

Lovely hexagonal penny rug measuring 48" x 24".  This penny rug is made out of 124 individual hexagonal pieces that have been stitched together with a sewing machine.  Each hexagonal piece is topped with 2 pennies that have been stitched on by hand. Most of the pennies look to have been sewn on by the same hand, but there are a few that show a simpler stitch. Possibly a child helping her mother? The predominant colors are black, purple, blue, red, gray, and brown.  Note that the true colors are a little more muted than shown in the photos.  This penny rug is in excellent condition with only a few tiny stains, a couple of little holes and a few loose stitches.  It is backed with what looks like a fragment of 19th C ingrain carpet.  This looks great on a dining table or on a blanket chest.  And, we bet it would look fantastic mounted and hung on a wall!     $595
